Lowering Advice

Going to have my car lowered at the end of the month and am just after some more opinions.

I will be having new shocks fitted as well as the springs and have been told that if i don't get TEIN ones then the next best for the celica are probably KYB. This is from the TR&D garage in Nottingham who are Toyota specialists (I know several people on here have used them).

Having looked at some prices the KYB are a lot cheaper, but would TEIN be worth the extra money?

Any advice would be much appreciated, cheers!

I can't help as regards TEIN v KYB, but just curious as to why you're having the Shocks replaced, has your Gen 7 done a high mileage?. Also are you having TTE or Eibach Pro Kit Springs?

I'm sure Ian will look after you, he's very particular to Chocolate Hob Nobs BTW :)

The car has done 120,000 miles so he recommended changing the shocks at the same time. If I go for the KYB ones I might get some TTE springs from Mr T as others have said they are Eibach just rebranded, or have I got that mixed up?

No, you're correct on that. I've never found anyone able to give a definitive answer on whether the TTE's are linear or progressive like the Eibach Springs. At 120K, I'd recommend the Shocks to be replaced too.

If you're in need of an excellent mechanic with a Unit in Langley Mill, give me a shout and I'll give you his contact details :)

Cheers for that, that would be really handy as I actually live in Ilkeston, about 2 mile down the road from there. I take it you've had work done there yourself?
