Sorry............but they do not look as good as the original design.........................you may well attract some unwanted attention with the "smoked" look because of the current "construction and use regulations" :(

How much light do they cut out?

The traffic cars around here are always on the lookout for smoked out lights/ indicators :(

The light that shines through is exactly the same. When theyy are off they look bit dimmer thats all. I really want someone to make some alternative lights that I know are legitamate.

I don't get it, what have you done exactly?

Did you spray the inside or outside of the unit?

Or did you buff it (looking at the grinder)?

Please tell us a bit more about how you did this.

How about swapping all the rear bulbs for their LED equivalents ?

They react a bit quicker than filament bulbs and not likely to need replacing for the life of the vehicle

Spraying the rear lights is so 1980's :D
i wish they did a white aygo... white is sooo this years colour!

and so 80's

I'm sensing someone has a dislike of the 80's? LoL

I really want someone to make some alternative lights that I know are legitamate.

Well i have emailed Hella and FK Automotive regarding these (amongst other products that arent available for our cars) so just waiting to hear back from them

Looks good

But will this affect your insurance? i.e. if you get smashed up your bum and the person / insurance company say due to this mod we could not see the brake light clearly e.t.c, and insurance companies would do anything to get out of paying!

Didnt want to put it down, but it does look the mutts nutts.

Not my flavor of mods, but respect for your bravery at modifying such a new car.

I've seen a few cars with tinted rear lights, that upon closer inspection, simply have ladies tights stretched over them!

I presume this is to allow the effect to be quickly removable for insurance/MOT reasons.

as long as the lights still reflect and the brake lights are still clearly visible there is nothing wrong with having a smoked effect ont he lights... obviously if u sprayed them completely black, the police will pull you over and get you to replace them, or if you have a crash your insurance wont pay out. 99% of insurers will only replace standard parts anyway, even if mods are declared.
