Headlights Too Dim

I have a 2003 T3 and have noticed that when the lights are dipped they provide no illumination whatsoever! I've had them tested and am told that they meet government standards, but I just don't feel safe driving at night with the lights dipped. When I get out to look, they resemble a dying torch! I've recently had a new Battery fitted so don't think that's the problem. Someone else has told me I can cure the problem simply by replacing the bulbs, but I see from another forum on here (the Avensis forum) that this can be a difficult job to do yourself. Has anyone else had a similar problem with a Corolla? Any advice greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Are you sure you not got it set on side lights, than having the main beams on, full beam is when you see the little blue light on the dashboard display.

Also, is the angle of lights set to the correct level, as in pointing forwards than down to the ground?

Other than that, mine seem ok at night, perhaps they could be a bit brighter, but i can still see where i'm going.

think about upgrading an aftermarket bulbs, might be brighter, but remember to put the original one back for your MOT ;)

Sticking to brands such as Philips/Ring/Osram for bulbs will ensure that they are better brighter bulbs and 100% road legal so no need to change come MOT time.

Try some of the visionplus ranges for more light output or some of the bluevision ones if you want a legal HID look blub from Philips.
