Yaris Sr Blanking Plate

My daughter has just bought a Yaris SR and is very pleased with it including the sat nav. However she often does not want to take the sat nav on short journeys. However the dash looks bad with just a hole and visible conections. There is a rumour that the kit for using the sat nav on a different car includes a blanking plate:

Three questions:

Does the kit actually contain the blanking plate, the dealers do not know and say it is a Tom Tom part? No response from Tom Tom

Is the blanking plate available seperately?

Where can I buy either the kit or the blanking plate?

Only sort of. There is a small display to the left of the GPS which is useable for radio and CD. It is actually an eclipse avn2210p see link for picture.http://www.navigadget.com/index.php/2007/06/09/eclipse-avn2210p-now-shipping-for-800/

If Eclipse and TomTom missed on one big item, it was not including the travel kit to begin with.

There is an optional travel kit you can purchase for this setup which costs about $70. If Eclipse and TomTom missed on one big item, it was not including the travel kit to begin with. The travel kit consists of a suction cup mount, AC adapter, DC adapter, and a cover for the slot left open when you un-dock the DUO from the AVN2210p. Paying $70 for these accessories is too much and since the whole point of this device is to be a dual in-dash and PND system in one package, those accessories should have been included.

Manufacturers never seem to think things through when they bring out new models it would probably only have cost 10p if it had been included with the car.

I got one from my dealer Benfield Toyota, Wakefield it arrived in 3 days, cost £19.95 though!! should really come with the car. It was listed on the parts system as audio cover.

Thank You. Certainly a better deal than $70 for the kit plus postage from the USA although it does come with suction mounts etc which I do not need.

Have you any idea of the part number?
