My Yaris Troubles

I haven't posted on here for an age, but thought i would after yesterday. All had been fine with my 99 t reg freetronic yaris, untill yesterday at a roundabout.

Went down into first gear, moved off and found i couldent change gear. No matter how much force i used it just would not change, so hobbled down a small road and pulled over. Tried turning the ignition on and off but to no joy. I couldent even get into first now.

In the end phoned the RAC who came and basically said it was a clutch problem, so i got towed to nearest Toyota garage to me. When i got home i did some research on here, and found that its either something to do with the hydraulics or the ECU.

Just received a phone call from Toyota, and it was to ECU to my dismay, as well as needing a new clutch kit its going to cost me just over £2000. It was just my luck after saying a few days before that it had never ever put a foot wrong before, and being my first car i was really pleased it had been so reliable. Oh well.

Just wondering if anyone else has had any similar problems?
