We brought our Toyota D4D 2.0 colour collection 11 months ago on an 06 plate and love it loads of power. This week I noticed that when you done about 60 mph in 5th gear if you took your foot off the accelerator then back on again the gearstick seemed to move a little and the gearbox made a slight knock. As me being a very good home mechanic I didnt like the sound of this. There seemed to be a distinctive knock bit like an engine mounting gone when you accelerate only in 5th gear. Took it to my local toyota dealer today and they test drove it only to confirm my worst nightmare that the gearbox is knackerd in 5th gear needs to be rebuilt. Only done 30.000 miles thank god its being done on warranty. They said a couple of avensus had the same problem.
