Alarm

Is the alarm in the 2003 T Sport supposed to have a motion sensor?

Basically my mate has a 2002 VVTI (140) and when the windows/sunroof are left open and there is movement in the car, the alarm sounds. However, this doesn't happen in mine.

I've heard that there is a sensitivty control under the cup holders in the centre console but have been unable to find it.

Any help you can give would be great, i am reluctant to take into Mr T.

Cheers

Mark

If your Car is an import it probably won't have the Factory fitted Alarm which qualifies your TS as having Cat. 1 Security. One thing to be aware of is that if it is stolen/recovered, your Ins. Co. could refuse any claim as you will have misrepresented the security on the Car.

If on the other hand it is a UK model, someone may have turned the sensitivity of the Alarm right down. The only reason I can think of that you can't find the adjustment under the Centre Console is that it IS an import.

Have you been able to get the Alarm to sound under any circumstances?, and if not, the Reg. Doc. should tell you if the Car is an import model.

Thanks for your reply. It is a UK model. I can get it to sound when i lock the car (using the remote) from inside the car & putting the key in the ignition so I know it works.

More than likely someone HAS turned the sensitivty down but last time i looked under the cup holders i couldnt find any switch/adjustment wheel. Any ideas?
