Fitting Remote Locking To Yaris Phase 1

Im just fitting after market 'remote locking' to my yaris, I just want to know how to wire it up to the existing central locking control unit. Ive located the wires under the binacle area in the little green box, but the wires seem very small and look like they shouldnt be disturbed. Should I tap into the lock/unlock wires by the doors instead?

Also Where could I connect the indicators up so that they flash when I lock/unlock the car? I thought about connecting on near the winkers themselves or should I go for the center console hazard warning like switch?

any tips or info on the installation of remote lockin/ alarm would be fab? thanks

Hey this is Yarisburds other half, i have fitted quite a few of these. If memory serves me right, the box you are talking about is the right one, as for the indicator's, check that the box doesn't have them aswell, also it might have a good power take off aswell. Another place to check for connections would be the drivers footwell, as most of the connections should be there.

Will see if i can find colour codes and locations.

Been looking, sorry i cant find the colour codes but if you have a test lamp then you should be able to source the cables where i have said.

right.. found the wires in the footwell. Brown/white (lock) and orange/green we think is (unlock) ...The car now locks and arms itself with the remote.. but does not unlock. there are no other wires and according to my manual that wire is the one!! Do you think it could be a problem with my actual alarm itself internally ?

The alarm came with a booklet with diagrams for negative, negative/positive and pneumatic central lock. ? we did the negative connections because thats what i was told it could be.. but what if i try the negative/positive one?
