Did Your Volume Control Button Work After Your Fit An Aftermarket Head

Hi there, just want to know is it normal the volume control button don't work after an aftermarket headunit installed!!

My volume control button with the "TAPE.CD" and "AM-FM" button all don't work after i installed it!!

It make sense the "TAPE.CD" and "AM-FM" button don't work as they control the original headunit, but i need the Volume Control Button to control my TNS (Toyota Navigation System) which is on my car!

Will there be any chance i can keep my aftermarket headunit and the volume control button to work? and will there be any chance to make the audio remote controls buttons on the steering wheel work as well?

Thanks everyone!!

Yep thats right, once you replace the headunit the original volume will not work. Also sat nav won't load when 'trip' button is pressed. At least mine didn't...

Seems it needs to be connected to the original stereo to function. I did my headunit a while ago and posted a guide in this thread on how to get the TNS system working again, it's not the tidiest solution but it still works to this day! :
