My car (which has only covered 38000miles) went really well From Oxford down to Bath...lovely drive,, zipping along but, the gearbox lets it down, it's just as bad as my old 206, its notchy and some times hard to change gear especially reverse, it maybe because I forget to jam my clutch pedal hard down to the floor (my carpets are standard Toyota)...is the linkage worn,is there a cheap fix?

Take a look here gearbox fix

its for the Tsport but i guess it will work just as well on yours.

Only thing is the yaris sump plug washers didnot fit,

i used Mitsubishi washers.

It took 3 to do mine, but it really did work my gearbox was silky smooth.

I also mixed some ZX1 in with the oil while i was doing it [friction eleminator]

I've looked at the top of my G box and can see a largish hex head, i cant see any need to take the air box off as it says in the text, if this is the correct plug to take out.
