Only Got One Key

2002 1.4 d4d ive bought this car, its come with just one key , a black one, what is my best option as to getting a second, i presume it had a remote? i dont have a owners manual for this year

best bet is go to a Toyota dealer, but its not cheap, it will need a new key cut plus programing to the ecu

ive seen keys on flebay, and was wondering if any body had any experience of them,

You should check with your local dealer that they will be happy to programme a key that they haven't supplied, if you buy a non genuine key off eBay i imagine they won't be to willing. I would call the dealer and ask them if they would program a genuine key from another car (as seen on Ebay) and see what they say. If they will then that should be the cheapest and safest option for you.

spoke to mr T today, my key is a grey key,so its a bit of a prob , as its the black key that they copy from, said it would cost 45 for a key and 45 to program if they could in fact do it. and about 1600 if i lost this remaining key. was thinking about cutting a couple of keys and then glueing the grey key inside the cowling by the ignition, guess thst would work ok . any ideas gladly accepted
