Or more likely, should I shut up more

Definitely NOT! But I do begin to wonder with all your experience of "pimping" if a career change might be advisable? Oldest profession and all that......... ;)

Keep up the good work Hoovie!

As a slight digression, I got one of those "Tyresure" TPMS fitted at the place you found this morning. Programming is dead easy and changing round the wheels on the system would take about 90 seconds. Eat your heart out Mr T - an hours labour to reset after a RFT change - you have got to be joking!

Best regards

Chris

Are you having it fitted same time as a new set of boots or having the tyres whipped off to get fitted and then same back on again? (does that sentence make any sense?)

I must admit I like the look of the Tyresure quite a bit more then the one I found on eBay, and at £180 rather then £299 it is a whole lot more attractive then when I first saw it! Is it £85 worth better though? Hmmm.

Keep us posted on this

The boots ( and the XT5 ) are only 3000m old but the supplier ( Demon Tweaks Direct ) fitted the sensors and rebalanced the wheels for an all in price of £201. Very efficient operation - took under an hour. If you have a local tyre fitter he might better the £22 for fitting but probably not by much.

The data gathered is interesting: when tyres were cold, just after fitting, their temperature was 24 degrees C according to the Tyresure and the pressure was 32 psi - exactly the same as the digital pressure gauge that I have. After 40 miles on the motorway the temperature was about 37 and the pressure 35. After being parked in the sun for 20 minutes the temperatures were all different depending on the degree of exposure. Minimum was 25 and maximum was 38. Should have looked at the pressures but was thinking about the effects of the different temperatures on the pressure in each tyre so forgot to look at the readings - Doh!

I'd like to do a permanent installation on the display head but have not yet worked out the best place. Your over the mirror installation on the Scangauge looks brill but the sun roof controls get in the way. Not keen on a bracket mount unless it's the only sensible option. All ideas gratefully received!

Best regards

Chris

that is a super price, Chris - £201 supplied and fully fitted is excellent  I have 31,000 miles on my tyres, but they still look like they have a reasonable amount of life in them.

I guess your XT5 has no spare? would you happen to know if a 5th sensor is available for the lucky guys with a spare wheel?

Not sure on the 4.3 dash layout, but the location I had earmarked for the 'eBay' display on my 4.2 is attached to the ashtray, which is quite low down on centre console - as that does nothing anyway and the display for tyres is not one you would be needing to look at frequently (as there is an audible warning with them that will bring a problem to your attention and prompt a view?)

Hi Hoovie - the XT5 didn't come with a spare but I bought one that I carry in the boot most of the time. The guy at Demon Tweeks talked replacement sensors but after looking in the manual I don't think that you could accomodate a fifth tyre on the system. The display is laid out for monitoring four tyres at the same time.

Chris

gonna have to consider this very carefully I think.

Weighing up cost of fitting now v waiting until new tyres to have fitted (my tyres are probably 90% used so only 'worth' about £10 each).

Cheers

Well, Flexy, I don't think anyone could ever accuse you of going off-track on the Camry front :D

of course, going off-track is what RAV4s are all about ;)

Do I win a prize? :toast:

It’s all academic.

If you post 99% of the time in the 1,000,000 to 0 thread or the Word Association Thread then your post count is meaningless and is effectively spam. Or even worse, 66+ pages of copy and pasted dumb a$$ jokes

If however your posts are like mine and are productive helpful or even sarcastic then well done to getting to a 1000

:P Makes you feel the need to constantly respond, so that's positive in a "forum" sense ,or is it that I'm so irresistible. If it really bores you then simply ignore me & I might go away. Here stuff one of these lovely Pimmy's pies in your mouth  ........gallery_44539_666_12705.jpeg

I'm sorry but it is the constant 'highjacking' of threads that is boring, also that most Camry references should be in the forum created for such
