Trc Off And Vsc Light

I have recently bought a 2006 toyota avensis 1.8. When driving on the motorway the TRC off and VSC light comes on. Pressing the TRC button has no effect. In order to make the light go away i have to stop and switch off the engine and start it up again.

I do not have this problem when driving around town.

The steering rack has also just been changed, i do not know if this has had any effect.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Don't if this is of any help but I had a similar problem with the same lights coming on about two weeks after buying my 2004 Avensis, went back to the dealer and it turned out to be blown brake light bulbs causing it!! Hope your problem turns out to be as simple.

Just checked the lights and they all seem to be working so this is not the problem, thanks for your advice though, hopefully the solution will be as simple as yours

Also, i would like to know if driving the car with these lights on would be dangerous.

I have a similar problem, when driving around town there are no problems. But within a few minutes of joining the motorway the trc and vsc lights come on. Can any help us out here please!!!!!

Can anybody give me a direction as to what is causing this problem. The nearest Toyota dealer is miles away and i just dont have the time at the moment.

I would also like to know what the cause of this problem is. Ive been driving on the motorway with the TRC off and VSC light on, ive been told by a friend that this is not a problem and is completely safe, is this true as i thought they were safety devices.
