Oddly enough, my Red Setter never farted even though he would eat anything. However, on the downside, I live in a town which has a fishing fleet. He would regularly go down to the Harbour & roll in either rotten fish or the nets on the harbour. He would then come back, proud as punch, with his coat sticking up in spikes & the most Gawdawful stink off him.

Only solution or cure was up to the house with him, into the bath & shower him down with shampoo. He regarded a shower as the worst of punishment & no matter how thorough I was, I could still get a whiff off him for a week
