i purchased hid conversion kit last year from "hids4u" it was the 55w pro max rated ones with the 55w ballast, they had also the 35w but i wanted the ones with the most light, anyway i wanted to get new bulbs so i ordered new bulbs, ordered the 5000k h7 55w pro max, delievered swiftly, but i noticed when i had the bumper off, that there was a white tag attached to each of the new bulbs saying 35w...hmmm ok some body made a mistake, fair enough,e-mailed hids4u...there reply was

Hi Rory,

"Many thanks for your enquiry. HID bulbs actually have no power

rating as it is actually the ballast unit that controls the

power and will produce the 55W light output. This is due to

these bulbs using xenon gas which produces an ark of light. You

have actually received the correct bulbs however the tags

should of been removed for which I can only appologise for the"

confusion caused.

Kind Regards

I would think the vendor is probably correct in what he is saying. Its likely the ballast units determine the power output of the bulbs do to the high intensisty discharge. BTW a friend fitted a kit on his BMW and they are superb.
