Tvss Iv-d Sensitivity

I have a 2001 Celica VVTi 190 with TVSS IV-D fitted. If the alarm is set by pressing the ignition key lock button either once or twice to double lock the alarm is frequently triggered. The only way I can satisfactorily lock the car is to press the lock button 3 times thus disabling the interior protection.

Is there a way to reduce the alarm sensitivity to improve the overall security?

Any help would be appreciated :(

Yes, you can adjust the sensitivity using a Knob under the Centre Console. Have you checked there is nothing metallic such as Keys or Coins left in that area?, that's the most common cause of Alarm triggering.

Yes I have checked and there is nothing in this area. However I returned the car to the dealer and they have done exactly as you suggested. They have reduced the sensitivity and tested and it appears the issue is now resolved. Thanks for the response. ;)

As the saying goes you learn something new every day, and today was no exception.
