hi everyone,

basically i know very little about cars.

im looking to fit a sub woofer to my yaris,

ive heard i can buy a toyota wire spool to add Speakers on the parcel shelf, could i use this to put a sub in the boot perhaps?

ive also heard that theres a yaris sub woofer that goes under the seat.. anyone know anything about that?

any information on what i'd need to do a job like this and the easiest way to do it would be great.

also anyone whos done it your advice would be awesome.

cheers! :D

If the Yaris underseat sub is the same as the Aygo underseat dealer fit sub, dont bother its *****. I had a Mutant MT5-AS which i picked up off e-bay for £30 that wasnt bad in my Aygo, but i dont think that you can get usefully more bass out of an underseat sub that a pair of good 6*9's, and i had to fiddle about with the settings on my high end Pioneer head unit to get the underseat sub to run at any kind of volume without distorting, so i imagine that running it through a standard head unit will sound rubbish.

I am thinking about swapping the standard Speakers in my '58 plate SR for infintys or JBL's which i reckon will give much better bass definition instead of messing about with subs.

In terms of wiring Mutant do a decent value wiring loom with all the connections needed for a sub install. Again i got mine off e-bay having used one before and its very simple to fit, one line to the Battery, one to earth and then a feed for the head unit control (on/off in other words) you then use a phono lead to connect the sub to the head unit, easy peasy. If you want a guide, look in the aygo forum and search for posts by me, i posted a full install guide for the underseat sub in June'ish last year.

Good luck with what ever you end up doing!
