Fitting A Rav 4 D-4d Engine In An Avensis

Hi, can anyone offer some advice please? I have an Avensis Estate 2.2 D-4D diesel on an 05 plate that has done 90k miles. It looked like it had a blown head gasket but it's a lot worse than that, with a crack in the head and a large amount of 'coking' around the inlets. The mechanic I am using thinks that the coking is something to do with the exhaust recycling system. Additionally the starter motor needs to be replaced and Toyota have quoted over £400 for that.

Advice is that I try and find a used engine from a breakers (complete with starter motor). I have found a few and one is the D-4D engine from an '07 Rav 4, I have been told that this is the same engine and would fit, does anyone have any experience / knowledge of this please?

hello Mark

initial tech data for both engines have to be compared + support engine lugs etc;

besides -- gear box mounting geometry, as well. Theoretically both engines must be the same.

before go further you've chek everything

cheers/Igor
