Any Incidents/mishaps Due To The Weather?

OK, this is a bit of a breakaway from usual "Help! My [insert fault here] is broken!" topics. Has anyone had some sort of misfortune due to the bad weather?

I pranged into a curb this morning and dented my rim. Luckily it's the one with a Renault wheel trim but now I have a vibration on the steering wheel.

Two snow balls were thrown at me this evening. The first one hit the driver's door but the second one missed from point blank.

If you have hit the curb fairly hard (sounds like you have) I would get the suspension/steering checked out as you may have bent something else besides the wheel rim.

Yes, I have thanks, but I'm not very confident in the wheel and tyre shop in question's expertise. With my previous car they couldn't sort out a vibration on my steering wheel and it turned out they had fitted a directional tyre the wrong way round. I reluctantly visited them this morning because I had some motorway driving to do and the other shop couldn't help me. Any way, they inspected the suspension and couldn't find anything wrong. I asked if the wheel should not be balanced but the guy did not think it was necessary. As the roads were still a bit snowy this morning I drove very slowly to the shop and only after I've left I discovered the vibration on my steering wheel.

Sorry for my late reply, I've been preoccupied with other things. Thanks for the contact number. Do you know his business' name or what type of work does he do? It seems to me the solution might be as simple as balancing the wheel.

Hello

I was frighted when the rear part of the car slided when turned.

I will change both rear tyres (6 years old) in the next winter season.

Cheers/Igor

That happened to me once on my old corolla. The car slid on some ice and the car wheels hit the curb hard. Few days later i discovered a power steering fluid leak from the rack.
