Plan A, Out The Window

I sent Dent Devils some pictures of a small dent in my nearside rear door, after my wife missjudged the angle when driving in through the gate of our cul de sac, and caught the back of the car on the gatepost and electic sensor which protrudes slightly from the gate post,

Surprisingly dent devils have said its not something they can put right.

My plan was to get them to restore the door skin to its original shape, and then approach a mobile spray unit, which attends my local dealers once a week and get them to repair the minor damage to the paintwork, i.e spray and blend in the bottom corner of the door, rather than fill the dent, rub it down, and spray the whole door,

So what now, ?.

Get onto findapart and see if a scrappy has your colour/shape door in stock somewhere... or get any colour one and get it painted to match.

I'm glad you said it not me  I'm fully aware that we have very many women drivers on the forum, so i'll swiftly move on.

I have managed to attach a full size photo now, to my SECOND post, and as you will see there is a hair line crack in the paint, and a small dent in front of it, i was hoping dent devils ( i have heard that these guys can remove virtually any dent ) could remove it, but apparently not. the dent is only small , and i was hoping to avoid a major repair job.

I feel your pain :crybaby:

My girl has been 18 years on the road & I got my 1st dink ever. Happened either last Sunday Or the previous one, in the Supermarket carpark, I reckon. :censor:

It isn't noticeable to the average passerby BUT I CAN SEE IT

Some of it I will get out with a sink plunger & water, but having seen yours & heard the story, I doubt if Dentdevils will be able to do anything with the really sharp, deep dent. It looks as though the corner of someones door caught it with an unmerciful bang. My car is lower than most & a 4x4 towers above it & could hit it like that.

To my surprise, i took a phone call at 5pm today, from a bloke , who said he had been asked to give me a call regarding the dent on my car, the odd thing is dent devils had, as i have already stated, said via e-mail that unfortunately they would not be able to help on this occasion after studying the photos,... anyway the bloke reckons that they can't always make an accurate assessment just from viewing the photos, so i have arranged for him to come round tommorow, fingers crossed he'll be able to remove the dent for me.

Hi , an update,

The guy from Dent Devils managed to remove the dent for me, and today my car is at my local dealers where the mobile repair / spray unit guy, will be repairing the paint damage, i hope he does a good job for me, and the repair is not noticeable , if everything works out ok, then the total cost for dent removal and paint repair would work out at £130 :)

Job done :yahoo:

I picked the car up shortly before 6pm, and my first impression was nice job, however it was starting to turn dark, so i'll have a better idea in the morning when its daylight,

but all in all, plan A, worked out fine in the end, and i feel i have had a bit of a result, at £130 all in.:thumbsup:
