Having Scottish blood in me I love a good deal when I see one so when I saw a pack of Warburtons Rolls going for 10p for 12 with a 'today' sell by date I bought them and chucked them in the freezer.

Now,

I have taken them out now so I can make some food for work tomorrow, will they be ok to eat as they have been in there for 2 weeks?

Pardon me if this is a stupid question!!

im sure it's like a month for bread stuffs? might be wrong... its only bread tho, as long its not mouldy it wont kill you! :lol:

Actually if frozen at a constant temp and sealed in a bag stuff will keep almost forever believe it or not....I was taught this many years ago at a freezer class by Delia Smith!!!!!! <<<name dropping here haha.......... However once defrosted they must be used fairly quick as were on use by date!!! :rolleyes:

Don't be lazy, go and make your own bread....my Dad and I have bought a funky bread making machine....the house smells yummy and we have bread in all shapes, colour and size coming out of our ears. :P

I made a glorious chicken & mushroom pie yesterday ( i fancy myself as a bit of a Gordon Ramsey :lol: , or should i say kieth floyd, judging by the ammount of red wine i knock back ) so if ever your down romford way, :meet: :beer:

Yup... We have had stuff in the freezer for years and its still been fine :P

Decided to de-frost mine a week or so ago because the drawers could hardly slide out :(

I found stuff in the bottom that I had totally forgotten about. Decided to bin everything :D. In the following Sunday Paper was a long article on people clearing out their freezers. Don't. Everything is perfectly safe.

I kept 3 saucissons (dried meat in a French salami size sausage) 3 years out of date. Have used them & no problems.

They found a tin of beans from one of the expeditions to the South Pole (one that didn't make it @ the beginning of last century ) Perfectly edible :eat::chef::thumbsup:

I buy bread in bulk from the local cash and carry when its close to the use by/sell by date - get it for 10p a loaf. We've got a large commercial freezer which runs at -18C > -21C and the bread is stored in it as soon as we get it. Just take out a loaf when we need and it keeps for 2-3 days easily in the kitchen.

Must admit I try to use stuff every now and again to empty the freezer so we can clean it.

Things ideally should be wrapped in poly bags or whatever - eg meats can suffer freezer burn where the stuff dries out.

One of the fridges I have runs at a constant 2C and fresh foods keep a lot longer in that.

the usual rule is 1 month for bread but you can leave it in the freezer a bit longer.

if you want it to last forever you will need to freeze it at -273.15° Celsius

I dont have that facility!

Gonna see what else I can freeze and then eat when its well out of date.

have frozen sliced onions, sliced mushroom, milk, cheese but they have to be frozen before they are out of date

I took some frozen bread out of are freezer last night only to find it turn it to a loaf of mushroom's, Bonus I love mushroom's on bean's

nah ti will be fine, lol i always freeze stuff, had pizza's from june last year the other day, and i'm not dead! lol
