Hi Guys

I was thinking about getting one a ScanGaugeII but am unsure on a few points.

1) Are they any good?

2) Where is the OBDII port for it?

3) Can i hide the wire coming out from it?

Thanks

John

1) Yes, the gadget is very thorough. Trip & mpg gauges are very handy. Loads of other stats updated live from the car's ECU. Car seems naked without it now

2) The OBD port, which looks like a scart socket, is at the left of the steering column, where the bottom of the dash meets the centre console

3) Yes, the wires can be tucked away. Some people have even mounted to thier centre dash. There are some pictures on this forum.

I've mounted mine above the rearview mirror with a custom made bracket:

The topleft and middle photo's show my first attempt and the final version next to each other...

REFZ (owner of the CityBugClub-forum and also a member here cut a hole in the rear wall of the little shelf above the radio:

For me this was no option as I allready have a Triple Info Display from an Opel/Vauxhall mounted there.

Another option is mounting it BEHIND the wall instead of flush with it:

You can use them on any post 2000 car :)

I have one mounted in the dash on my Tickford built Ford Racing Puma, mainly to keep an eye on the fuel economy which is was low as 7mpg last weekend on a race track :o

But the wife Yaris Verso came up with a management alarm so I plugged it inot her car, read and googled the fault code.

Diesel heater failure.

Reset the fault with the unit.

Didn't come back so it must have been a spurious one ;)

Then fitted the Unit back into my Puma.

This is where mine was, currently in process of changing the dash so it will be fitted forward of the back of the existing position with the wire still hidden.

Reason being extra bits being fitted. B)
