I have a 03 avensis my abs light is on ! And i took it to my dealer and they told me it was my sensor. so i replaced the sensor at a cost of £140 . but still my abs light stayed on. my dealer then told me that it could be a wiring fault. And that it would be a nightmare to fix! So what do i do?

1.drive the car then scrap the car when the mot runs out

2.repair nightmare problem at vast expense

don't think there are any other options

To bobby hendy,

So Toyota took £140 out of your pocket for changing sensor. I presume sensor to excitor ring? Then they tell you it will be a nightmare to fix, seems strange that Toyota cannot fix a car that they specialise in. So will they give you your money back, would you be able to find someone with code reader that might be able to give you a fault code, forum user maybe able to help at that point. Meanwhile you could check excitor rings for rust or damage or missing sections.

Regards, Beagh.
