i have a clonk from the rear of my 1995 rav4 which i think is the diff mount can a get this from anywher other than a dealer thanks wizal

I think you can yes.

There is a mad Scot called bothy who will advise you better but he will be fast asleep under next doors hedge at the moment.

He will also tell you how to get your RAV to do 155mph in the blink of an eye.

Hi and welcome.

The rear diff mount can be helped by using some of the silicon filler stuff which goes firm, but still gives a little flex. This mount is the first weak point in the drivetrain. Normally, you'll get a clunk on acclearting or slowing down.

If that doesn't do it then it will be the suspension bushes. These last about 80k miles. I ordered 2 sets of polybushes from the USA in October but still waiting for them - told they were getting made up specially. Used to be able to get them in the UK but no longer available......unless you are lucky and find some old stock.

If all fails, I'll get some bushes made up in the UK and maybe get a few extra.

The other thing, if you intend throwing the RAV about, is a rear anti-roll bar (known as sway bar in the US) is available from ADDCO in the USA.

do you have any dimensions for the polybushes that you need, or, failing that a sample that I can measure? ;)

I only have the bushes that are still fitted on the car and no doubt well worn altho they are good enough for the MOT. The Garage have told me that if needs be, and if the bushes from USA don't ever arrive, they will strip suspension down and get some made up by a local machine shop.

So, simply, no. I don't have the dimensions yet....I was hoping to have got the 2 sets from USA - www.motorweb.com. I'll email them again and ask them if they can send me the dimensions.
