Need More Power.....any Ideas?

I need a bit more power for my workhorse.

She is an Avensis TD Estate 1998......not the D4D engine.

Anyone got any ideas on how to give her a bit more power? She is 89bhp as standard. She has been given a complete service to help but I need more!! I was thinking of a bleed valve so I can up the boost a touch on the Turbo but been told this is a quick way to blow up the engine!?

Any help/ideas on more power would be great.

I would be inclined to leave your (2C-TE ? ) engine alone, or as you suggest in your posting your engine will go bang.

Tend to agree with Beagh on this one. Plus, more fuel in for more power = more smoke = possible mot problems. Increase fuel, increase air going in too = more power, no more smoke but more likely to cause an engine failure.
