Central Locking Problems

Avensis 02. Never had a problem with the central locking until Saturday ( car on drive ) Neither key ( with good batteries ) would open the doors. Eventually found that if I turned the key in the drivers lock once, to open, then the central locking would work. Sometimes when it failed again I had to turn the key two or three times to get the central locking fob to work. However the last 2 days it has been OK, as long as I only lock the doors with one press of the key fob. Maybe the electronics have taken their knickers out of a twist. I'll trey double locking again on Friday and cross fingers. Could there be a componenet on the blink, or does this sometimes happen
