Yaris D4D - Info Required...

My folks have got a Yaris D4D while they wait for the RAV to arrive and after driving it a couple of times am surprised hopw pokey it is for a small diesel, as all the instructions are in Belgium I have no clue as to what specs it actually is.

Anyone out there know what size engine, is it a Turbo Diesel etc as I was shocked to be able to cruise on the Motorway (every other road seems to be a motorway here) at 145kph with ease in such a small car.....

Strange having a gear shift on the right hand side of you....

Hi Mate,

It is probably the same engine as they use in the Corolla.

The standard one has 89 BHP and the one with the intercooler fitted has 109 BHP.

They are both 2.0 litre 16 valve DOHC with turbo's, both identical in bore, stroke and compression, the only difference is the intercooler.

Just had a look on the Toyota website and found out that the Yaris has a 1.4 engine

1.4 D-4D, Top speed 106 mph, 0-60 in 12.9secs, 74BHP and 124 lbft Max. torque

Quite nippy for a 1.4!
