Shock Problems I Think

hello to everyone, right ive got a proplem with my celica,driving home last night and the car started to make a loud bumping noise as if the wheel was coming slack so stoped checked it and no problems there, so i carried on when it got louder cut a story short got it home checked the strut top to makes sure it was tight when i found the the 3 outer bolts where tight but the main shock bolt under the grease seal was slack so ive tightened it up but the noise is still there when i go over speed bumps like a knocking noise,can anyone help to this knocking problem

get a jack an jack it up an check the strut hasnt snapped i had to repair a renault the other day that had same sort of thing wrong an his strut had snapped an everytime he went over a little bump it make hell of a clunk

check that the last loop of the spring hasnt snapped off , usually at the bottom.
