Can anybody recommend a good garage to change the cam belt of my 2005 2.0L D4D, preferably an independent, somewhere in, around, or between Uxbridge West London where I live and Tring Hertfordshire where I work. ;)

Hello,

can't recommend a garage for you but check your Avensis as I think it has a timing chain. I was told that mine had- an 03 T4- so I assume yours has. No worries then I don't think chains ever need changing. I accept no responsibility for this advice but it's just to advise you what I'm led to believe!

Cheers.

To ighaig,

Check your log-book for engine code, if code is 1CD-FTV you have belt drive. If later model with chain, why are you changing it. My apologies, I cannot recommend garage. Why not contact Toyota & ask price to renew belt ( if belt drive ) you might get a different price & good deal if you contact a number of dealers.

Regards, Beagh.
