Hi All

I have a 9 year old toyota avensis 1998-200 model avensis gs 1.6

The problem i have is when the car is locked and alarm actives i get 16 beeps from the alarm system. Have done a web search to try and find out what these 16 beeps mean and the only info i found was that the back up alarm Battery is not holding its charge.

The alarm system is still working with no faults.

The alarm system is factory fitted TVSS

Any info of where this back up alarm Battery is fitted and parts can be bought for myself to repair.

Hi,

I too have a similar problem. I have a Toyota Corolla VVTI 2000 model and I get many beeps when I unlock my car and when I lock it. The locks seem to work properly but the beeps are getting annoying, anyone know where I can find out what all these beeps mean? I haven't tried to count my beeps, but it is a lot!

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Most likely it's the backup Battery that needs replacing.

The backup Battery is there to make the alarm go off, even when a thief disconnects the car's main Battery and tries to move the car... onto a truck or so.

Hi anyone have any idea where I can get a 'reasonably' priced replacement backup Battery (or siren unit if it comes as a complete package)? I know that Toyota will (probably) sell these, but if it's not too difficult, I would like to replace it myself.

Any advice?

Thanks
