Rear Wheel Noise

Hello Gents, my 98 1,8 man 84000 miles Avensis is v. noisy above approx 60 mph and appears to be coming from the rear of the car. Negligible vibes through steering wheel and front tyres are wearing evenly. The car is smooth as silk to drive. It sounds like a bearing but bearings seem fine however both rear tyres are worn on the outside edge. All 4 tyres where replaced at the same time and the front ones have approx. 50% life left, rear 65% to 25% across the tyre. The car has not had any rear end shunts or damage, had the car for 7 years so know the history. Pressures and wheel nut torques are fine, car brakes straight. Had this before ? Any ideas ?

The rear suspension links are adjustable - that might fix the uneven wear on the tyres. I don't know about the noise, though. I'll keep an eye on this topic because my rear tyres wear unevenly too.
