Oil Cap Leaking

the plastic oil cap is leaking oil on to the top of the engine compartment i think it is a seal or something gone anyone experience this with avensis

Not on any of my recent cars but did a couple of times on older cars.... its easy, replace the ring seal or the entire cap :)

yes the task is for pupil.

just have an oil resist rubber sheet with thickess as yours.

have it replaced

Try a new cap, if it still leaks the engine may be breathing heavy.

i took it for a drive it stopped leaking i will check it tomorrow thanks lads for the feedback

pay attention on the condition of both surfaces -- may be small part remained that prevents tightness.

normally this O-ring gasket serve for a long time.
