Avensis Rear Washer Not Working

I have just bought at 98 avensis 1.8 gs auto 5 door. The rear washer does not work. The front ones work fine. when i turn the switch nothing happens, there is no sound from a pump at all. My questions are, is it a seperate pump? if so where located? if the same pump what else could it be and if something else again where located. I checked fuses, but according to my book with it does not list a fuse for it so i proceeded to check every fuse, under the bonnet and in the car behind cubby box and could not find a blown one. help please as i would like to get this sorted cheers

yeah the rear screen wash is on a separate pump. its on the washer bottle located behind the front bumper on the drivers side. most likely pump failure but worth testing the pump first.

remove it from the bottle, just pulls out, you will lose some washer fluid so get a bowl ready. then connect direct to Battery if it works then check the rear wash wipe relay.

how do i get to it, is it front bumper off or can you get to it another way, cheers for the quick reply

thanks for reply, sorted now, the previous owner had swopped over the plugs on the motors as the red plug was on the black one and vice versa the pump in question had a large crack down the outside. A trip to the local breakers sorted me for a fiver!!! And that was for both pumps and apart from the coloured tops both are the same so i have a spare now. Just for anyone else reading this they are easy to get to, just undo the plastic inner wing panel lift it back and you can get to then easily.
