Hello from Cyprus

I have a 2009 D4D Yaris with 12000KM on the clock.

I have this problem.

When the car is parked in a straight line its seems the the car bends on the right.

When i drive the car i get this feeling also that the car is more heavy on the right and bends on the right.

I also get this feeling on corners. when i turn on the right the car feels ok, but when i turn on left i get the feeling that the car rolls a lot.

Has anyone this same problem?? is it a problem?? what do you think???

I hope you understand my english

PS. i get this feeling from the very first day.

My god that is alot of miles for a brand new car!!!

Could be a broken suspension unit? Either that or your tyres are badly under-inflated on the right side only, although theres no reason why that would be the case...:S Have you had it checked out by a toyota specialist/dealer?

It sounds as if there is a problem with your car, I would take it back to the dealer and show him the problem, if they can't find anything wrong then insist on a test drive on another yaris, so that you can prove one way or another if there is a fault or not.

I am assuming you purchased the car from new and not one that has been involved in an accident and then repaired(badly).

Let us know how you get on.

thats why i bought a diesel :D

my tyres are not under inflated. i check them once a week..

i havent check them by a toyota specialist but on a quick phone i had with them about this issue they told its due the heavy engine and because the engine is not installed exactly in the middle of the car but its a little on the right :o

also they told me that my springs are made for europe customers who sit in the left on the car.

that was said by a toyota specialist. not an authorised one though

  • 2 weeks later...

It could just be a case of the front wheels are out of line with the back, the car might be dog legging !

this is when the front wheels are not following the rear thrust line set at the factory, easily put right with

wheel alignment. or a dodgy shock !

Fingers crossed !

Hi, the front strut has a shock absorber and spring all in the one component,

it sounds more like you have a faulty shock or spring than wheel alignment problem !

get a tape rule or ruler, and with the car on level ground, measure from top of front

tyre to underside of wheel arch, check left & right, then compare measurments, also

have a look at the strut for any oil leaks and inspect the spring for cracks or breaks,

if unshore, take the vehicle to a dealer for inspection, if your car is new then it will be

under warranty still. keep us posted !
