Avensis Auto Will Not Start

Hi everyone,

hope someone can help me on this one

I have an Avensis 1998 CDX Auto, I have a problem with starting, It will not start in park or Neutral, I had the RAC out and he said it was the isolator switch that stops it being started in gear. He rigged up a temp wire from the relay to the Battery which starts the engine. Can anyone tell me the exact location of this switch, as I cannot see it. is it on the gearbox or at gear leaver?

Many thanks

John

I seem to recall it being called the 'inhibitor' switch

I am sorry to say that you need to have a search through a workshop manual to locate it :(
