Hi,

You can check on the Haynes site for any forthcoming manuals, but like the MK1 manual 1998 - Jan 2003 - it took years before they actually published it.

It does contian a few pages on the VVTi engines.

When I asked Haynes why so long before bringing out the Mk1 manual, they said with modern cars and long guarantees the demand for a such manuals is low so they concentrate on models more likely to sell thier books.

I just checked today and found that out.

what do people do miles away from home with no internet and no manual?

Has anyone collated any how to resources or do Toyota have online documentation at all?

To david j starkie,

I wouldn't be to worried about being unable to purchase a Haynes Manual for your car. Their good days are long past, an awful lot of sections are take it to your dealer ie; gearbox section for example. Now i know your not likely to be stripping gearboxes on a regular basis, but its just an example.

You have quite a few Forum users on this site who can connect you straight to Toyota links that will give you all the info you require.

Regards, Beagh.

Can i take it then that there is no centralized printable source of how to knowledge?

Unfortunately that is not my experience since I joined up here.

To concerned parties,

To the best of my knowledge, no book's are available, it being the same as manufacturer i work for ,all info is available via disc to laptop & main workshop computer. But as i suggested ( cannot think of his/her forum name) their is more than one person on forum who has supplied link direct to Toyota which allows you to download all required information you need, which can then be printed off.

Regards, Beagh.

PS: Only books i can think of, would be supplied via Autodata website. Manuals would not be specific to particular car. Instead, ie: book for cambelts etc etc.
