'BLOWN AWAY'

Loosing a roof Fast & Furious style didn't stop this massively rare Aerotop Mk3 Supra from blowing its boost all over the UK's roads.

The mere mention of the Supra draws an image for many of the muscle pumping, flared-arch wearing, Jap street cruiser Mk4, but Charlie, owner of this gloss black road racer thinks differently. No wonder, he drives the modded and exclusive Mk3 Aero, rarer than spotting a dog on a unicycle.

Imported in 2001, the narrow bodied beast is a GT Twin Turbo which hides a 2.0 litre, 24 valve engine and dual CT-12 turbochargers. As if all that wasn't enough grunt, the Gold Mk4 Supra rims are fed an extra dose of speed through a power hiking wet nitrous kit, pushing 75bhp jets from the bottle.

NOS bottle packs a punch

Lowered onto up-rated shocks, the Jap monster has a full brake upgrade with oversized disks fitted to all four corners. Also drilled and grooved callipers hold Pagid fast road pads in place up front while Fensport rears, constructed from Kevlar, stop the chunky back-end from any speed.

The Supra with a few mates

Charlie's modifications are carefully selected, he's a man who appreciates a factory-like finish and that's clear from the Supra's upgrades. A huge Toyota fan, the business co-ordinator has owned an MR2, two Soarers and two Supra's, the last being a UK spec turbo. The Toyota obsession meant Charlie knew exactly what he wanted to achieve with his current ride, the usual high quality HKS kit appears in the form of a cat back exhaust partnered by a stainless de-cat pipe in order to expel the gasses, mean-while the fresh stuff is sucked in through an HKS Mega-Flow induction kit.

The stunning Aerotop is one feature which caused more than a little trouble, flying off in spectacular style one breezy afternoon, like Paul Walkers orange MK4 in The Fast & The Furious. Leaving the car roofless, meant Charlie had a mission on his hands to find a replacement for a car estimated to be one of only ten in the UK.

The rarity of the Supra gives it an attention grabbing style, this is followed all the way through from its polished engine bay to the custom mounted A-pillar gauges. This black beauty has received a real dose of thoughtful mods considering Charlie was originally after its 2.5TT bigger brother. The work won't stop here though, future plans include a complete re-spray and a high quality cow hide re-trim but, what-ever lies around the corner, its sure to involve double-barrelled boost and some full-on classy modifications.
