    How your Yaris is made

Videos like that are what happens when you let "artists" do jobs that engineers should do. A bit of chronological order would have been nice and fewer close ups of people's hands and face covered masks.

  8. Strangely it works correctly if I disconnect from the car and just shout at the phone. It is only when CarPlay is active that Siri's features don't work. Thanks all for confirming this issue affects other people, and not just my car. If I ask it to send a message, it says "to whom" you reply and it then says "what do you want to say" and you say one word and it replies and gets into a loop saying "it says, it says, it says" until you press the button on the steering wheel. Its hilariously broken... I'll submit feedback to Apple. https://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone/

Service by non Toyota. Warranty still good?

I phoned around a few dealers for the 60K mile service. The local dealer to me does not seem to know much about anything. They said the service is £370 + £160 for the spark plugs. Three other dealers say the service including the spark plugs is £370. I am staying away from the local dealer for sure.
  10. I was driving to work this morning and i realized that I need to ask you about the way i use my speed limiter. Obviously, it comes very handy in urban driving, because of speed limits, temporary signs, etc., but i personally use it in a different way, more like a typical cruise control. I would set a speed of 60 for instance, then i would sort of straighten my leg and let my foot just weigh/rest on the pedal. It goes all the way down, but since the speed is limited, the car does not go any faster than that, so technically my speed is set and i am not really using my foot, as it . My question is whether or not this is bad for the speed limiter or other parts of the car, because i do usually go long distances like this? Thank you in advance.

    Permanently disable LTA and RSA

There's enough information in the Highway code telling you how to detect what speed limit a road is likely to have, without any signs being present. It's not up to a non-public organisation to have speed limit signs up. The public road and highway code are not their cost or concern. Best not to distract your local MP with arbitrary side quests. Instead, get them to action things like the road conditions; pot holes, road works, parking issues....
  13. The bug isn’t volume or time related unfortunately. if I’d asked it for the weather, half way through speaking it would just stop. you couldn’t send a text message, as it would stop before letting you add the message. a funny one was when I asked it to add a reminder, it cut off half way through setting it up and the actual entry was Siri itself speaking - it had recorded its own voice as my reply.

Hi Peter, Welcome to our forum.
  15. Thanks for all the ideas. The current phone is a 15 Pro with iOS 17.4.1 today and its never worked with any iOS 17 release. The old phone that worked properly was handed down, iPhone 14, but has also been updated to iOS 17 and I've tried testing with it a few times, no difference to the 15. I have access to an iPhone SE 2nd gen (quite old) and that is also on iOS 17.4.1, so I will try that as well. Volume doesn't seem to be an issue. I've got into the habit of muting the radio when trying Siri and on the MY22 the only way to start Siri is with the button on steering wheel, voice activation is disabled when connected to Toyota's CarPlay. Yet another Apple bug, they are getting less and less reliable over there in Cupertino.. 😃

That very annoying website always has the clickbait big !Removed! thumbnail which has absolutely no connection with the video. The annoying luvvy snowflake filter has taken !Removed! out Is b o o b s offensive to anybody on this planet?
  17. Sometimes it is just the problem that the volume of Siri is changed. Try to open Siri with the button on the steering wheel an when Siri opens try volume up. Sorry for the bad English but iam from Holland, good luck trying 👍

    Phone sound

Hi Stacy,The most likely problem could be a glitch in the Bluetooth connection between your phone and the car's audio system. This can sometimes happen due to software updates on either device or interference from other electronic devices. Resetting the Bluetooth connection or updating the firmware on your car's audio system might help resolve the issue. If that doesn't work, it could be a hardware problem, and you might need to have it checked by a garage.Hope this helps
  20. The service activated warranty will not start with your third party service, it will have to be serviced at a Toyota dealer in order to activate it 1: Yes 2: The warranty is free, you just have to have the correct service at the Toyota dealer 3: It automatically gets registered when serviced at a Toyota dealer
  21. Michael, In most areas, reputable car dealers are legally required to disclose any prior accidents they are aware of. However, the exact details of what constitutes "awareness" can vary. Total Car Check, these reports are helpful but might not be all encompassing. They often focus on write offs and major issues, potentially missing minor accidents. On the positive side If the car looks good with even panel gaps, it suggests a quality repair job.Look through the glove box paperwork for any accident reports or repair invoices.Contact the dealer and inquire why they didn't mention the accident. Explain the situation and see if they can provide any further information. Getting a mechanic to inspect the car for any potential issues related to the accident could be helpful but if you are not sure or have doubts walk away as there are many more cars to be had for a bargain.Hope this helps
  22. Absolutely. Rav4 is ultra popular suv in eastern countries like Ukraine, Russia, Moldova, and others countries around where usually stolen cars from Western Europe and around the world finds their place for a second life. Yaris is of no interest and no one actually cares about these little motors. Only local thieves help themselves with body panels , wheels, bumpers etc to use on accident repairs, Yaris like most other small cars are subjected to accidents and been bought after for repairs by young people and mechanics.

    Our Corolla gets better!

Thanks Bob. That is a detailed and very helpful answer.
  24. Hi, I'm from UK and I'm planning to buy a 2020-2021 Proace panel van medium. As all the Vans, they are always used for work, the ones I'm looking at have 45-65k miles, and I wonder if I can extend the warranty up to 10y. From the Toyota website, I understood that I can, but I'm in the middle of something, I need to relocate far away in 6-12 months and finding the right Van is an absolute nightmare. So, I want to take this one, extend the warranty from a local dealer (I can't do it online) and then eventually make claims in the official dealer of the new city. I won't buy from their approved used scheme, it's a third party dealer and the Van has been serviced by an approved dealer, but not official dealer, it seems possible also in this case to enroll the 10y warranty. The questions are: 1. Will Toyota recognize the warranty country-wide in their official dealers? (Just in case I need to clam the warranty in some other city, I may move again) I'm planning to service the Van always in the official dealers, which is also by the warranty requirements, I think it should be fine but please let me know if I didn't spot something. 2. Do you know how much it costs roughly? 3. Do I need to enroll the extra warranty or it's automatically enrolled as long as I service the car from them? Have a nice day.
  25. As above and i would return it and find another...it's not like it's difficult to find a corolla.
