    Power issue.

What is the nature of this reduction in power? What is different and when? Is there a certain rev range? Hesitation? Does it come on lift as normal (i.e. at 6200 rpm)? Details s'il vous plait...
  3. Thames Water is lobbying to raise bills to over £600 a year to fix its leaky pipes. They want their customers, people you like and me, to bail them out for their mistakes. All during a cost of living crisis. Thames Water is in the news right now, but it’s no secret that other companies will do the same given the chance. Water companies in England have over £60 billion in debt between them, and firms like United Utilities and Severn Trent are joining the call for bill hikes. But their plans have to be approved by the regulator, Ofwat. who is only hearing from the companies.

    Alloy wheel bubbling

Should have gone to Specsavers. 😄

    Power issue.

Hi Edward, there could be several potential issues that can cause this problem.Engine issues like power loss and strange exhaust sounds could be caused by air filter, fuel delivery, spark plugs, exhaust system, or vacuum leaks. Check your air filter and consider replacing it. If that doesn't help, a mechanic can diagnose further. There are other problems that can cause this as well but these would be easier to check yourself first. Hope this helps

Thoughts on first month of Yaris ownership

I don't know why they didn't use ones similar to the Mk2, which slid down completely out of the way of the rear view - That was a much cleverer solution to how obstructive they are.

    Alloy wheel bubbling

Wow, great result I guess they've accepted the bubbling was caused by a a manufacturing fault then. A bit surprising as I thought they learned their lesson from the state of the Mk1 Yaris rims! Be interesting to see if anyone else has this or whether this was just a rare unlucky slip of QA.

    "Smart"?

The first priority of any government body (central or local) should be to check their departments for signs of inefficiency, and rectify accordingly in order to make savings. The aim should be to set zero annual increases - no increase should be applied “because it is in line with inflation” - and then only a limited increase where necessary to maintain the safety margin of balances.
  9. Years ago I would always stop for servicemen hitching a lift home for the weekend. Until there was an incident where the driver was attacked by servicemen and his car stolen from him. After that, no more giving lifts to strangers - military or civil.

Thoughts on first month of Yaris ownership

I was just about to say that rear view vision in my car is good but then I have the Yaris Cross and not the hatchback. Silly me.

  12. Hi Alan, you are right you certainly don't see hitchhiker's if any these days. Mind you I suspect that with the unpredictable nature of people and the knife crime etc those that would pick any up wouldn't today. I used to see loads growing up and hitchhiked myself a couple of times with my mate when we decided to take a long journey and needed a lift back. Really shows how society has changed thats for sure.

    Power issue.

Hello guys. I'm having a problem with my 2005 Toyota Corolla T-Sport 192bhp. Sometimes I feel the engine dosen't have all the power and the exhaust sounds a little bit different. I drive this car as a daily from 2018 and this problem appeared a year ago, but it started to be more frequently. There are no error codes in ECM. Thanks!
  15. Today
  16. A hitchhiker, coming home tonight I saw a guy on the opposite side of the road with his thumb out hitching a lift, he was in an awkward place just before the road goes into a dual carriageway, so it would be potentially dangerous for someone to stop, I used to see hitchhikers all the time and have even given a lift to one years ago, mind you, that was leaving somewhere I was working and happened to be passing where they needed to be..
  17. I was going to say the same thing - Unless you fill the tank, it is basically just guessing I think the minimum you need to put in is something like 20 litres for it to reset properly.

    Auris Clutch replacement diy

Ahh that reminds me of my 1st Mk1 Yaris... the centre cap had fallen off the wheel at some point (I inquired about some proper replacements from PartsKing but they were inexplicably expensive! ), so the castle nut or whatever it's called was exposed to the elements and had gotten so corroded it had practically turned back into iron ore! At least yours hasn't gone that reddy black colour yet so it probably isn't too bad

    wont move

My Hilux 2012 Has all four wheels locked up, this came after a bang whilst moving at about 45MPH. Does anyone had this or a clue as to what it mite be Marc

    "Smart"?

Indeed - I'm not opposed to paying taxes, but I want to know where all the money is going! I don't understand how I can not have had a pay rise in a decade but I'm still managing to keep my head above water, while councils have been increasing taxes year on year yet still be going bankrupt while at the same time cutting services and ignoring as many of their responsibilities like road repair and park maintenance as much as possible! It doesn't add up. By their standards I should be declaring bankruptcy and having all my debts written off! I really want to know where all the money is disappearing to - I strongly suspect it is mainly gross incompetence; For instance in one of the boroughs I work in they have fired almost all the long-term council staff and half the council is run by agency staff, and I'm pretty sure that is costing them far more than employing staff directly!

    Reluctor rings

Why do anything? Let it develop. You have not mentioned that it is not working so leave it be until it is obvious. Unless of course it doesn't stop when you ask it to. 🙂

    Amplifier install

Hi, If this is a Class "D" amp then anywhere should be ok, If you are worried about the Airbag then maybe think to install the Amp somewhere under the dash (above where your feet go) or under the seat or behind the centre console, That`s where I have my Amp although it will be going to the boot soon. Good luck.

    Upgrade horn

"Has the car been modified.......?" That is an easy question to answer if you are the first owner or did the modification. If you are a second owner how can you be sure that your second hand car is unmodified? My first had a screen washer and seat belts fitted My second an automatic reversing light, a radio, automatic aerial, and halogen headlight bulbs and hazard warning lights, and demodified when I removed the headlight relays. My next had headlight wipers, rear fog lights (OEM supplied), headrest restraints (OEM supplied), headlight and fog light relays, upgraded headlights, fog lights, car radio and electric aerial. These were all upgrades matching what became standard in later cars. Unless a dealer itemised all these changes it would be impossible for a new buyer to know.
