i have beeen doing some searching on the net to find out all i can on the toyota sat nav used in previas and ipsums and heres what i came up with.

This will help those tinkerers get the most from these units such as adding dvd's or sat nav into the screen and a few other tricks too.

So you could possibly hook up your Nav unit to your Nav plug using the RGB input, and a dvd via the video input ,AND use the front camera, AND rear camera input also!

ENJOY the links. some are in russian and japanese so put them into google translate for some great "english" captions.

Have a look around and you will find some other great info on these sites.

SORRY! EDITED POST ABOVE AS SOME LINKS DIDNT WORK. SHOULD BE OK NOW.PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF THEY DONT

IPOD YOUR FACTORY STEREO!

ADD an ipod to your stereo!

This uses the "AVCLAN" communications between the stereo and the navigation unit.

If you google "AVC LAN ADAPTOR" you will find lots of imformation but here is a good link:

http://www.softservice.com.pl/corolla/avc/

Full touch screen adaptor that allows you to interface with a car pc unit. (run windows media player or winamp!0

http://indashpc.org/new/adapters/car2pc-toy.html

Hres another LAN adptor

http://indashpc.org/new/adapters/car2pc-toy.html

the avc lan communications also has the touchscreen imformation on it so you can control a computor via the touchscreen if you interface with it.

Hi

did you manage to modify your factory Ipsum stereo? I've just purchased an Ipsum with a touch screen and looking at options for installing a carputer.

I'm also in New Zealand, and would love to hear how your modifications went.

Cheers

Roger
