D4d Timing Belt

Hi guys.

I drive a 2002 2.0L D4D Corolla hatch. The timing belt change is due in 2000 more miles so i want to act on it now.

My mechanic said it wont require a kit but just the belt.

Can anyone advise me if this is so. His parts suppliers said no garages in the area ask for the kit for these cars.

The mileage is at 185000 and it is due at 187000.

Toyota quoted me 275 euro for a change but did not inform me what the job entailed i.e kit or just belt.

Can someone also advise on the water pump side of things too if possible.

I really cant afford to get ripped off.
