How Too Adjust Hand Brake

left my car for 10hrs as i was in work,returned too find it had rolled back about 50ft with the hand brake on

and hit another car,

how can i adjust this

Bet you didn't put it on properly. Give it another test on a hill but stay in the car, and if it still fails engage 1st gear and then put on the handbrake. Then book it into a garage to find out the true problem. Could be adjustment could be pads etc
