Hi, gonna upgrade my sound system on wednesday but I dont know what will sound good in a yaris

I have been quoted 500 quid for

1500W sub

2*500W 5 1/4 door Speakers

2*500W 6x9

2*4inch Tweeter

1.5F Power Cap

Amp cable

No Amp

I am keeping my old Kenwood KDC-MP6090R and sub box which has a port(hole)

so i need the following (plz fill in the Watts and makes)

sub without box =

2*5 1/4 door Speakers =

2*Tweeter =

Power Cap =

Amp cable =

4 channel Amp =

or 5/6 channel Amp if I get 2*6x9

5/6 channel Amp =

2*6x9 =

what makes should i avoid

thanks for your help

what makes were they for the quote???

500w 5 1/4''!!!! dont exist!

id go for

4 channel amp - mrv-f340 alpine v12 for about £180

set of sxs 1757 6.25 components about £100

power cap will be bout a ton

sub you will be looking at roughly 150 for a rockford HX2 RFD1210 or alpine type R (both 12'' at about 1000w but you havnt got the amp power required)

bit over 500 with no wires

that was only a quote over the phone

so the mrv-f340 alpine v12 for about £180 (179) is just 2x250W

sxs 1757 6.25 components about £100 (can get it for 60) is 50W (150W Peak)

can i but the thingy that will make it fit in the door?

power cap (how many F's)

150 for a rockford HX2 RFD1210 (199 quid) 500W RMS

or alpine type R (both 12'' at about 1000w but you havnt got the amp power required) (99 quid) 300W RMS

so the rockford is better

hmmm i was thinking of getting 1500W RMS would that be 3000W Peak, is that too much?

wouldn't bother with 6x9s, not necessary. More than enough imaging in front with 4 good Speakers, plus being a small car the sub will complement nicely with smooth bass.

are u the guy who wants people to 'FEEL' the bass outside of your car though? you'll look really cool doin that, especially to the teen girls at lunch time ;)

should i forget about ampin the door speaker so i'll only need a 2ch amp

im really not gettin what you want here vmail!

if you want loads of bass your best using a monoblock amp and a high power sub but best off also using a 2ch to run a decent set of comps in the front end.

dont bother with rears unless you really want a good balanced setup for SQ or the use of DVD in the future etc. The sub will just drown them out.

im gonna add 2 sets of 6x9s or coponents or coxailas to my shelf because when amped the will be clear they wil produce no low frequencys thats the subs jobs, and its mainly to look good not for volume (same as jaxx's install really i mean is in lookin good not being put in to make ur ears bleed constantly)

i would just stick with one set of comps on the rear Lee

1. its cheaper

2. less wiring and amp usage

3. Ya not gonna increase the clairty over 1 set, it will only help to make it louder

i think that when buying a sub audiobahn is the way to go! i got a 10" audiobahn high excursion sub with 600w rms, an alpine amp(700w) and 10" box for just less than 300 pounds off mcs-direct. that system sounds really good in a little car like a yaris and id recommend it 2 anyone. if u want bass that will shake the car the audiobahn sub will do that quite easily for you mate.

Got

/////Alpine MRP M350 Amp (700W Bridged)

Alpine Type R Sub 300W RMS 1000W Peak + Box

AudioBahn 85W RMS Componets

720W Cable

80 quid fitting (60 quid just for the doors)

All for £430.00

They damaged my old Speakers, damaged a small bit of the plastic, in the back, took the 2.5 hrs to fit it

When I tested it, it didnt sound that good, was told that it need to wear in, put the amp to 0.5V, sound good on the inside, whole car vibrates, but cant hear it outsite properly, done a good job on the wiring but there isnt enough slack, also the amp to sub calbe ist that thick, should I put my older thicker cable in?

will put the amp on full in 2 weeks

oh the tweater are not loud, could be that me hearing had gone a bit, can I tweek em up a bit, do you know where they might have put the crossovers?
