After owing Shoguns I've changed to Toyota's. Bought a Landcruiser, Colorado 2002 with the D4D 3.0 engine. In normal 4WD pulling away in 1st then 2nd gear create a real thump. Maybe I'm not used to driving manuals again but the only way of avoiding this is to lift you foot very slowly of the clutch. Took it to the garage, the Toyota mechanic said it was the drive catching, after all it's pulling 2.5 tonnes. I am not convinced, the bang is very loud and not something I would have expected nor something I have never experienced in other manual cars.

Does anyone else experience this??
