Will be a Avensis owner very soon. I have traded in my Rover 75 diesel and am getting an Avensis d-4d 2007 with 30,000 miles on the clock.I am hoping that I have made a good move and that I can have some trouble free motoring.Any advice on how to look after my new car would be most welcome.

This car has a satnav I know nothing about these devices.

Hi,

Keep it well serviced & it is as good as any other vehicle. They are not as reliable with build quality & engines as the Japanese built ones, but it does not mean they are poorly built, as they are not.

As to the satnav, I think TomTom is better, due to needing to update the disc & at £100+ per update it is very expensive. If you don't get an updated disc, your satnav will be out of date as roads are changing all the time.

I have just switched to CoPilot Live on a PDA & so far I am impressed with it. With a PDA, you can have as many different satnav software systems as you like, so if CoPilot fails I can switch to TomTom & vice versa.

Good luck with being an Avensis owner.

Marv
