Engine Damage?

Hi all,

When I turned my ignition on today the fans started roaring even before I started the van. It's a 1.4 d4d corolla van. When I turn off the ignition the fans run for another 5 secs

and then there is a clicking sound that continues for minutes over in the fuse box beside the engine. Even though the van ran ok. and temperature gauge was normal i'm afraid it may blow up!! The only thing I can think of is I drove through some deep enough WATER this morning and it may have got into the electrics or engine. Anyone know if this will cure itself or any advise?
