Gap Between Window And Door Seal

Hi,

I have a Corolla 2002 5 door hatchback. Earlier this week - I noticed a gap between the window edge and door seal when lowering/raising the drivers side electric window. On further inspection - the window itself is loose (can be moved slightly from side to side) and when raising will not glide in flush inbetween the side door seal.

I've attached some pictures of the door panel. Describing the problem to Toyota - they seem to think its the window regulator and want approx £350 for a new part and to fit - but want the car booked in for a "diagnostic check" for which they will charge.

I would be really grateful if anyone can give me some guidence or help on how to fix or what part(s) i actually need.

On the second picture - I have marked with a red arrow where the window slides.

Best wishes,

H.

In your pic where youve got the red arrow, on the right arrow just under that you can see a white plastic thing?? that holds with window, there should be 2, one either side. It could be that might have worked its way loose and the glass moved out of place.... have a look on the glass you should see marks on the glass if its been moved, its like a dirty outlining of the clip holding it. If its broken then you may need a window regulator.
