My New Prius

Hi everyone,

This coming Friday I will become a proud new owner of a Toyota Prius TSpirit. After much thought and research I finally made my purchase yesterday. Obviously I took the car for a test drive and was really impressed with everything about the car. Just can't wait until Friday now to take delivery.

No doubt over the coming weeks I'll have a few questions that I might need answers to and I'm hoping someone kind soul on this forum will be able to assist.

I had a little play with the touchscreen yesterday and was impressed with what I saw, but I'm hoping someone can tell me about what I can do with the touchscreen, what info will it give me and also what the sat nav is like.

Thanks in anticipation

Hi, and welcome.

I am guessing from your description that you are probably getting a Gen 2 (2nd Generation) Prius model years 2004-2009, or have you bought nearly new as in an ex-demo Gen 3?

RTFM :) I think it is a good place to start anyway, even if it isn't the most readable manual.

Some one kindly put up an electronic copy of US version, which is good for searching as the index is poor.

Depending on your inclination, after that you might want to investigate more economical driving techniques, but I'd get comfortable with the car first. For the first few days, I ignored the MFD (touchscreen) until I thought I had got some feel for the car. You maybe a lot faster than I am at acclimatizing to a new vehicle.

Pitched at quite a different audience, you might pick out the odd tip from a guide written by an American user.

I spent a few months looking for anything I could on the Prius and lurking on forums before I decided on a Prius, what I wasn't very good at was bookmarking pages or threads that I thought were interesting.
