would like to know this as well I'm guessing it would because every little helps with a small engine. I have the 1.4 thinking of doing a 1.8 TS drop into mine but this would be a long way away from now so I'm also looking to get a much BHP out of my little 1.4 E.g sports cat, Apexi induction kit, map and anything else i can do all i have for my engine at the moment is a K&N panel filter.

Surely it must be cheaper to buy a pre facelift CTS than drop a TS lump in yours?(if your to try and match the T sport on performance that is) esp if you consider re-sale a few years down the line?

if you want a sleeper car then debadge, remove spoiler and stick some steely's on a TS

I would say save your money both of you, Buy a t-sport that 200 on the sports cat will be better pocket money elsewhere. Jonno enjoy your car for now only do modifications which you can use later. Save the money and just buy a t-sport no point trying to drop the lump in...You will regret it when you want the oem t-sport interior and little gadgets. It will be cheaper to buy one aswell.

As farhan said i wouldn't bother on a cat for a 1.4 fellas

Ive changed mine on the tsport from a 400 to a 200 but to be onest i dont think its made much of a difference, haven't had it dynod so don't know for a fact. But its ****** me off that my warning lights come on all the time, well they only come on if the car is crawling in a que, when at normall or revving hard they wont come on. Dont know if its the pre-cat or the cat!!!

Farhan: You know a lot on these tsports ive chatted with Shaun about it but just want another oppinion because im clueless. The pre-cat are we able to remove and just have a down pipe or should it stay?!?!? Also is it like the normal car i.e i could change from 400 cell to a 200 cell???

Thanks fella

Trying to think how a T sport engine in a 1.4 would work.

I guess you would want to drop a gearbox in as well, I cant really think how the 5 speed gearbox would work with the ECU thats tuned to work with the 6 speed. Shorter ratios would mean you would have a very short lift experience lol.

Plus the T sport clutch is uprated over the 1.4s, I think you'd burn through a normal clutch pretty quickly with that power.

You'd also need the t sport, inlet, exhaust manifolds and the 1.5 inch exhaust system or you would be down on power. Plus no traction control, hehe I only turn mine off in the dry. Dont know what it would be like in the wet with no traction control when you put your foot down.

Sorry for putting holes in the theory, but it sounds very pricey. Good luck on the sports cat
