Rusted Boot Lock

Was having a nosey in the car the boot day and found that the inside lock is severly rusted.... didnt notice this before.

Warranty expired in September.... how do I go about getting this fixed is it still covered?

I'm presuming it has something to do with the rear wiper?

I've had this too, but was lucky enough to find this problem before my warranty expired.

You need to get this fixed, as this rust will let water into your boot:

you can allready see where it drips onto the bootseal...

Looks to me that this amount of rust will not appear in just 2 months,

so I'd go to the dealer and see of they can help you anyway.

I'd say that some kind of leniency would be in place here...

That is just shocking :o !

I hope you have a good relationship with your Dealer and they can get it sorted. Very disturbing to see this sort of thing.

if your not covered(which you prob will not be)remove the two ten mm bolts remove the catch clean up and repaint and when rebuilding use a sealer on the threads of the bolts.sorted.
